EP2002 3.0

Knorr-Bremse brake control systems have fully integrated functionality ensuring accurate brake control, including:

  • Distributed Brake Control with per-car braking
  • Anti-lock braking (wheel slide protection)
  • Driver alertness monitoring (SiFa)
  • Remote-controlled emergency braking (LZB, Penalty Brake)
  • Passenger-operated emergency braking systems
  • Anti-wheel-skid systems

Irrespective of whether the train is equipped with a manual brake, electro-magnetic track brake, eddy-current brake or reverse drive generator brake, Knorr-Bremse brake control can achieve optimized coordination between the various systems.

Recently launched by Knorr-Bremse is the EP2002 3.0 Distributed Brake Control system. This ‘intelligent’ system is an evolution of the proven EP2002 system used on metros around the world. The new EP2002 3.0 system delivers per-car, distributed brake control, for all train types and for all global applications.
